Happy 4th Of July Oreo Balls!

We were first introduced to Oreo balls at the Pepins Holiday Wine and Dessert Party and boy were they delicious!!! So Layne was so sweet to share the recipe with me and I have made them on numerous occasions...Christmas, Valentine's Day and now the 4th of July!! Oreo Balls are a big hit in our house especially with Jackson as well as the tons of other people whom I have shared the recipe with!! Well ever since I made them for Valentine's Day for Ryan's office they have been asking him when the next batch are coming so here they are for the 4th of July in red, white and blue!!! I have included the recipe for those I haven't shared this delicious dessert recipe with! ENJOY!!! And have a safe and Happy 4th of July!!!

The finished product!

Ingredients:

1 Package of Regular Size Oreo Cookies Crushed

1 Package of 8oz Cream Cheese Softened

1 Package of White Chocolate ( I use Wilton's Brand available at Michael's Craft Store)

1 Package of Chocolate ( I use Wilton's Brand available at Michael's Craft Store)

Mix Oreos and Cream Cheese together with hand held blender

Roll into a walnut size balls

Chill for an hour

Melt entire package of white chocolate

Stick a toothpick in an Oreo Ball and Dip it in the Melted chocolate

Allow to harden on Wax Paper

Takes about 15 minutes

Then repeat steps with Chocolate

When Oreo Balls are no longer sticky to the touch, decorate with Sprinkles or Drizzles of Chocolate

Happy Monday!!

Mondays always have the stereotype for being unpleasant as we have to go back to work after a nice weekend off and that definitely seemed to be the case at the Lossius household today! And it wasn't until Action Jackson brightened the evening after a long day of work for this Mom and Dad to turn the day around!! Daddy was actually able to come home at a reasonable hour which always makes us happy!! And when he arrived Jackson was full of tons of energy (thanks to the all the M&M's he has consumed for potty training but hey you have to do what works right?!) and lots of love which is always a nice welcome home!! Jackson decided it was hilarious to wear Daddy's shoes around and pretend to go to work like Daddy, spout out new phrases he has learned and be just plain silly to make us laugh and I have to say it worked!! So here are a few pictures for you all to enjoy on what is now a Happy Monday!!

A day at the Beach....

A huge thank you to the Garcia's for hosting a wonderful day at the beach!! And we so enjoyed seeing the Kubler and Entrekin families too!! It was an absolute blast!! Jackson and Drew were in the water for about 4 hours straight only stopping for a quick PB&J sandwich then back to the water for more bodysurfing and wave jumping! It was such a beautiful day and I am so glad we went yesterday instead of today since it is pouring rain (which means Movie Day)!!! Jackson was asking the fishermen out there if they could catch fish like Pop and if he could help!! Hilarious!! Needless to say they went elsewhere to fish!! And the only way to get the boys inside at the end of the day was to bribe them with cupcakes, which actually worked!! Then all the kids crashed for naps except for Jackson aka the energizer bunny!! But boy did he hit the pillow hard at bedtime!! All in all a fabulous day with great friends!!!!

Happy Father's Day!

What a wonderful day Father's Day was for the Lossius Family!! Jackson and I were actually able to spend the entire day with Ryan without him having to work which was awesome!!! It started off with a great breakfast at Eggstyle!! Then Daddy opened his gifts!!! Then off to the pool we went for some family fun!! Jackson had a blast and was swimming like a fish the entire time!! Then we all came home and took naps (yep even mom and dad!) we were all exhausted Jackson wore us out as usual!!!! Then ended the evening with a delicious filet mignon (daddy's favorite!) and a family bike ride around the neighborhood!! Hope Daddy enjoyed his day as much as Jackson and I enjoyed spending it with him!! And a Happy Father's Day to Pops and Grandpa and all the other wonderful Father's out there!!!

Memorial Day Weekend 2011

Memorial day Weekend is always one of my favorite weekends!! Besides the fact its always a three day weekend it means summertime is officially here!!! And boy does Jackson especially love the summertime!!! He loves that the water is warm, the sun is shining brightly and the fact that he can play outside until 9pm everyday just tops it all off!!! So Jackson and I decided to head over to Mimi and Pops house for memorial day weekend since daddy had to work all weekend and told us that he wouldn't be any fun to hang out with. So off we went to spend the weekend with Mimi, Pops and Aunt Lauren (Uncle Rob was working in New jersey all weekend too). We went in the boat to sand mountain every morning, went swimming in the pool the rest of the day and had no set plans the entire weekend!! We had a blast and a much needed relaxing weekend although daddy and Uncle Rob were missed tons!!!
