1st Day of 1st Grade!!!

So just like that we are back to school and Jackson begins the 1st Grade!!  I can hardly believe he is big enough to be in 1st Grade! 1st grade seems like such a big step and the fact that he is no longer a little kindergartener anymore!!  I woke him up at 6:45 and he was a little reluctant at first but then he jumped up he was so excited it was the 1st day! We had a little argument over his shirt this morning I was going to roll with the deer park shirt he picked out (SO NOT like me) but Ryan gave me the "HE IS NOT going to the 1st day with that shirt on is he!? He needs a Polo shirt on!" So after a little discussion (aka bribery) we coaxed Jackson into changing in a crisp white polo shirt which was my first choice anyway!!  He looked so grown up and handsome!!  We took a TON of pictures as expected then headed off to school!  Jackson walked into the school like he owned the place and it gave me great comfort in the fact he was happy and comfortable there! He walked right in put his things away and started his morning work! There was no messing around time to get back to learning!!  Then Ryan and I noticed Jackson pulling random things out of his backpack!! Seems he had snuck a few things in there without us knowing and he was shoving them in his desk (they have desks now instead of tables) such as a ball, a cupcake magnet (dont even ask) and a bear on a keychain!  Ryan again gave me the look and I said we will just let the teacher deal with that one!! We kissed him goodbye and wished him a great day!!  I definitely shed less tears this year as opposed to last year but I will admit there were a few leaving that room! Addison was sad to leave her big brother I know she will miss him thats for sure!!! And there are lots of pictures but there were just too many good pictures to chose!!! Enjoy!!!

So the countdown was on in what seemed like the longest day of the year as I was so eager to hear how Jackson's first day was! So Addison and I got there early to avoid the craziness of 1st day carline and it turns out we were 3rd in carline (OH YES carline is back!) and Jackson's class was the first class out so there he was so happy to see us!!  He got in the car and said "I had an awesome day MOM!" Whew relief came over me!!  He said he learned so much and loved his teacher and he had music class and recess and it was just so much fun!!  I was so so happy! We spent the rest of the day talking about his homework (UGH homework is back too) but its a fun assignment.... he has to bring 5 things that talk about the things he likes most but the catch is it has to fit in a brown bag! So far we have a fish since he loves to fish, googles since he loves to swim (and a mask and snorkel wont fit Pop!) and a tennis ball since he loves tennis.  We have 1 more day to get our other two!!  Then the 3 of us went swimming and  had a blast!!!  A great 1st day!!  Now on to day 2!! And we look forward to a great year!!

Ready or not we have JUMPED back into our school routine!!! Let the 2014-2015 School year BEGIN!

Last day of Summer and Meet the Teacher!!

On the last day of summer I asked Jackson what he wanted to do and he said he wanted to go bowling so bowling it was!!  We had a great time we bowled 2 games!! Jackson won the first game and even got a strike and I won the second game!!  Addison was happy as can be hanging out in her stroller just watching us bowl!! Then we went to lunch at chickfila in the mall and Addison's request was to go on the Carousel so we did that next!!  She rode the dolphin but kept saying "more horsie" the whole time! And she screamed when it was time to get off!! Jackson of course loved it too!!

Next was "Meet your Teacher" night!!  So we went and brought our school supplies and met Jackson's new teacher!!  She is so sweet we just love her already!! Jackson is so excited about the first day of school!!  And I'm so excited for him and this all new adventure in 1st grade!! Its going to be a great year!!  After we came home Jackson went for his last evening swim before school started!!  It kind of became a fun nightly routine to swim at night!  Jackson was having a blast and then all of a sudden Haley jumped in! Seems she wanted to join in on the fun too!!  Then it was off to bed and I made some fun treats to celebrate the first day of school! "Apple" oreos for Jackson's teacher and him on the first day!!   Jackson will be so excited I snuck one into his lunch :-)

I guess as the saying goes all good things must come to an end and thats the way we feel about the Summer of 2014!!  It was an unforgettable summer!!  I asked Jackson what his favorite part of summer was and he said our Keys vacation definitely Mom! He wants to go back soon he said!!  Absolutely I think its safe to say we all do!!!  As I sit here the night before my sweet boy starts the 1st grade I think I am more nervous ok so I know I am more nervous than he is!!  I just can't believe he is in the 1st grade already!!  Time is flying by wish it would slow down a bit!!  So here is a 1st day of school poem I found that I will leave you with........ 

..T'was the night before school, all the children fast asleep, dreaming of their teachers and who they will meet....their clothes are all pressed...now all they must do is close their sweet eyes and now rest....SO, tomorrow, as we kiss their sweet lips and hug them so tightly, we will pray our kids use their best voices politely, hoping their days are filled with laughter cause this my dear mommy friends, is all that will matter. 

Now I must got to bed..........5:45am will be coming WAY too soon!!!!  

End of Summer Fun!!

Well the end of summer is here it is back to school on Tuesday! And we will have ourselves a big 1st grader!!  But what a WONDERFUL summer we have had!!  There might be a year I am ready for kids to go back to school but this year I am definitely not! We have enjoyed our lazy summer days, waking up with no alarm clocks, our vacations, evening swims, play dates with friends and not having to do homework!!  Summer of 2014 is one for the record books for the Lossius family!!  And I know one little girl that will miss her big brother when he returns to school! It gets crazy around here with these two but there is no mistaking how much they love each other!! Here are some fun pictures wrapping up our last couple weeks of summer!!  Enjoy!!!

Addison's 1st Haircut was by Jackson!

So Addison had her 1st Haircut and I didn't even know!!  I remember Jackson asking me the day we were leaving on vacation if he could have the scissors and I said no because we were packing up and getting ready to leave for the keys.  I should have known when it was quiet in Jackson's room but when I walked back there all seemed good! But he apparently found his "safe" scissors he said and cut a few of Addison's curls and a little bit of his own so that they could "look good" in the keys for Mimi and Pop! It worked because they did and I didn't even notice! I found out after we returned from the Keys only when Eucaris found the hair in a bucket in Jackson's room! Jackson earned himself a time out and some privileges revoked! It is funny now but not so funny when I learned about it!! All scissors have been removed to an undisclosed location! And Jackson has been reminded we don't use scissors without permission! Here are Addison's missing curls however I couldn't tell a bit of difference in her hair thank goodness!

Addison's 1st Pedicure!

Last week Addison had her 1st Pedicure!!  And look out Daddy because she loved it!!  It will be the first of many I am sure!!  She was just so cute when they painted her little toes and of course we painted them pink her signature color :-) Can't wait for more pedicures with my sweet girl!!
